Cepea, June 3, 2025 – Soy prices registered slight oscillations in May, influenced by the supply scenario in South America, the pace of planting activities in the United States, the impacts of US tariffs on other countries and the reactions of governments that have been affected by these measures. Quotations decreased slightly in late May, and the average in the month ended up below that in April. Meanwhile, soybean exports continue to move at a good pace.
Comparing averages in April and in May, the CEPEA/ESALQ Index (Paranaguá) dropped 1.17%, averaging BRL 133.10 per 60-kg bag. The CEPEA/ESALQ Index (Paraná) downed 1.3%, at BRL 128.14 per 60-kg bag.
SHIPMENTS – According to data from Secex, Brazil exported 11.15 million tons in May (up to May 26), and the daily average is 8.96% higher than that registered in the same period last year. The current pace tends to offer support to values in the mid-term, despite oscillations observed in the sort-term.
CROPS – The 2024/25 harvesting has practically finished in Brazil. According to Conab, 99.5% of the total had been harvested up to May 24.
