June ends with firm prices

Cepea, July 1st, 2025 – Prices of anhydrous and hydrous ethanol continued to increase in late June. Rains, frosts in some states, the increase of anhydrous blended into gasoline and the higher volume of hydrous traded at mills sustained quotations.

 

The National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) approved on June 25 the increase of the mandatory blend of anhydrous ethanol into gasoline from 27% to 30% (E30), starting on August 1st, 2025.

 

Sellers were firm about values, while some purchasers who have immediate needs ended up trading at higher levels compared to those verified in the week before.

 

Between June 23 and 27, the CEPEA/ESALQ Index for hydrous ethanol closed at BRL 2.6099/liter (net of ICMS and PIS/Cofins), upping 1.57% compared to that in the previous period. As for the CEPEA/ESALQ Index for anhydrous closed at BRL 2.9962/liter, net of taxes (PIS/Cofins), for an increase of 2.84% in the same comparison.

 

Data from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) show that in São Paulo, between June 22 and 28, ethanol quotes averaged 3.98 BRL per liter, amounting for 65.6% of gasoline prices (6.07 BRL per liter).

 

In the accumulated of the 2025/26 crop (from April 1st, 2025, to May 31st, 2025), the output of anhydrous and hydrous ethanol rose 11.5% and 11.29%, respectively, totaling 1.893 and 3.847 billion liters – data from Unica.
