Cepea, May 5, 2025 – The proximity of Labor Day in Brazil (May 1st) increased the volume of hydrous ethanol just a little in São Paulo state from April 22-25. Some independent distributors closed new deals to meet the additional demand, but small amounts only.
In general, purchasers were unwilling to trade in late April because of the possible higher supply of the product from the 2025/26 season in the short-term and of price drops for gasoline, in addition to the change of PIS/Cofins value from May 1st on
