Cepea, June 17, 2025 – Hydrous ethanol quotations decreased between June 9 and 13 in São Paulo for the fifth consecutive week. The downward trend, however, was less intense.
Besides the fact that many sellers were firm about the values, rains in producing areas interrupted crushing activities, reducing the ethanol supply in the spot market. Buyers, in turn, tried to close trades at lower prices, obtaining better opportunities in some regions.
The recent oil valuation in the international market and the higher demand, due to the proximity of the holiday in Brazil (Corpus Christi – June 19), also supported ethanol prices in Brazil.
Between June 9 and 13, the CEPEA/ESALQ Index for hydrous ethanol closed at BRL 2.5404/liter (net of ICMS and PIS/Cofins), downing 0.35% compared to that in the previous period. As for the CEPEA/ESALQ Index for anhydrous closed at BRL 2.9021/liter, net of taxes (PIS/Cofins), for a decrease of 1.45% in the same comparison.
